What Just Happened?
We’re excited to share that The Avery Group has been selected for a major Department of Defense contract called SHIELD. This is a big deal for our team and the mission we support.
Here’s the official announcement:
The Avery Group is pleased to announce it was awarded a contract for the Missile Defense Agency Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense (SHIELD) indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with a ceiling of $151B. This contract encompasses a broad range of work areas that allows for the rapid delivery of innovative capabilities to the warfighter with increased speed and agility.
Why This Matters
For years, we’ve supported critical defense missions through our work with the Army, VA, and CDC. Being selected for SHIELD means:
- We can move faster – When the Missile Defense Agency needs IT support, data analytics, program management, or systems integration, they can bring us in quickly without months of new procurement processes
- We’re supporting national security – Missile defense isn’t abstract. It’s about keeping Americans safe. Our team gets to contribute to that mission.
- Innovation at speed – The whole point of SHIELD is delivering cutting-edge capabilities quickly. That aligns perfectly with our approach of curious exploration combined with the grit to get things done.
What Comes Next?
Being selected for the IDIQ is step one. Now we’ll compete for individual task orders against other awardees as specific needs arise. Our job is to show up ready, demonstrate our technical capabilities, and prove we can deliver innovative solutions with the speed and agility the warfighter needs.
This contract spans multiple work areas, which means opportunities to apply our full range of expertise across IT services, program management, data modernization, and systems integration.
Our Commitment
As a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, supporting the warfighter isn’t just business for us. It’s personal. Our CEO, Akinwande, served as a noncommissioned officer in the U.S. Army. Many of our team members are veterans or come from military families.
